He just keeps on trucking.

Jagr’s base salary for next season is $3.5 million. But he has $2 million in games played bonuses from this season that carries to 2014-15.

The ageless wonder had this to say via a conference call following the release of his re-signing – per Morreale:
I think [Devils general manger] Lou Lamoriello wanted to know what kind of direction he wanted to go, so both sides want to do [the deal] quickly. I didn’t mind that at all. I was happy here and had no reason to change. If I’m happy somewhere and feel like the other side is interested, there’s no reason to change.”
Jagr ranks in the following categories all-time: 20th in games played (1,473), tied for sixth in points (1,755), seventh in goals (705), and eighth in dishes (1,050). He’ll have a great opportunity to move into fourth on the all-time point’s list next season.
With the impending retirement of Anaheim Ducks’ forward Teemu Selanne, Jagr is due to officially become the oldest active player in the league.
