After leading the San Antonio Spurs to the best record in the NBA (62-20), it’s only fitting that head coach Gregg Popovich gets rewarded for it.
According to ESPN.com, Popovich has reportedly won the Coach of the Year Award, making it his third career Red Auerbach trophy.

Since the accolade was created in 1962-63, Popovich is one of three coaches to have ever claimed three COY trophies, joining both Pat Riley and Don Nelson – per ESPN.com.
In winning at least 50 games this season, San Antonio has now achieved that milestone in 15-straight campaigns – with Popovich at the helm.
