The Philadelphia Eagles are speculated to ship wide receiver DeSean Jackson out of town – but that’s just not the case.
Jasckson and head coach Chip Kelly met Tuesday to talk about Jackson’s future in Philly. It seems like it went well, because Jackson called several teammates to tell them he is staying with the Eagles – per Lance Cartelli of NFL.com.
Jackson also tweeted out that the conversation between him and Kelly went well.

The Eagles allegedly made the decision to move on from Jackson as early as February – possibly even earlier. Since then, almost every NFL team in need of a wide receiver has been linked to the Eagles.
According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Eagles are fielding offers for their top wideout, and the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, and Carolina Panthers have been linked to the speedy Jackson. Philadelphia also is reportedly prepared to cut Jackson, should they fail to deal him.

Jackson, who caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013, seems pretty confident that he’ll remain in Philly, and that the media is wrong about the Eagles’ plans to dump him. It’s also possible that the Eagles just couldn’t unload Jackson’s contract – a deal that will pay him over $10 million in 2014, and still has three years left.
He is one of the most electrifying players in the NFL and a huge part of the Eagles offense. That is why bringing in Kelly was so perfect because Jackson is exactly the type of player he needed to be the number-two ranked offense.
So, in my opinion, he’s inevitably an Eagle.
