Eagles Talk- Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets- Defending the 8-0 record

Leading up to todays game, one thing has been on my mind all week, will our boys in green be able to bump that 8-0 record to a 9-0 against the Jets overall.  With the bruiser like style the Jets play with the Eagles are just going to have to man-up and give it to em’ right back.  Juan Castillo’s defense is not known for being a seek-and-destroy type defense but in todays game is going to have to be.  Going up against Shonn Greene, who is a very punishing power back, is going to be key in stopping their running game.  The boys in green must also be aware that Rex’s defense will be coming as hard as they can at No. 7, Michael Vick, and if that balls not airborne he’s going to be taking some punishing hits.  On Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez its going to be interesting to watch how quick his release will be– Expect a lot of 3-step drops from him, I don’t think the Jets are going to mess with the pass rush today.

LeSean McCoy matches up today against very good defensive linebackers with the likes of David Harris and Bart Scott, who will be looking to shut his running game down. DeSean Jackson and Darrel Revis will also be a good match up to watch, both around the same size it’s gonna come down to who’s hungrier.  With Jets starting safety Leonhard out it’s gonna be interesting to see how well we deal with Rodney Pool in that position.

With the Giants just losing to the Redskins this just became an even bigger game for the Birds’ today, everyone knew the playoffs were still in reach and now they are.  In order for the Eagles to win today they simply need to bring their “A” game, they need to go to the ball, and they need to play vicious, hard-hitting, bruiser football.  Look for highlights after the game and a brief summary article!
